Wolfgang Lohmeier has set new standards with his developments in percussion and sound art, which are particularly well received in the international film music scene. As a soloist, he has performed with Quadro Nuevo, Elbtonal Percussion, and traditional film orchestras such as the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg, the Slovak Radio Orchestra, and the Munich Radio Orchestra.

In his multifaceted career, he was co-founder of the German folk rock band Schariwari and, as a producer, his imaginative sounds have shaped over 25 popular albums for Sternschnuppe Kinderlieder and Rolf Zuckowski. He has received awards including the Hanns Seidel Foundation's Prize for Young Song Poets, the German Phono Academy's Prize, and the German Rock & Pop Prize. With Quadro Nuevo, he won the German Jazz Award four times, and for years he toured Europe with his ensemble Lauschgold (Creole World Music Award, Audience Award from the Süddeutsche Zeitung).

In close collaboration with the composer Martina Eisenreich, he created the instrumental cosmos for television and cinema films such as Tatort, Spreewalkrimi, Endlich Witwer, the fairy tale classic Sleeping Beauty and the soundtrack to "Wildling" with Liv Tyler, as well as for numerous theater projects, radio plays and media art.

As a soloist in Martina Eisenreich's commissioned composition for the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, he developed his own instrumentarium for TALES OF RHYTHM from African sound inspirations and contemporary, experimental percussion and sound art.
